Internet Bookselling News & Views, Issue #003 - The Importance of determination and commitment October 07, 2012 |
Hello Everyone! Another week has come and gone and I must say that it was a pretty "light" week for me scouting wise. I've been so busy with other projects that I only went out twice last week. Starting Monday, I'll re-discipline myself and scout daily. Nevertheless, from two outings I scored 116 books which I listed for $1,465. That's an average of $12.63 per book. That means that despite increased competition I still picked up 58 books each day I scouted. Imagine if I had gone out at least five days. I would have scored 290 books for a total of $3,623 worth of inventory. See what a little procrastination has cost me -- $2,198 in just one week! I can't overemphasize enough the importance of maintaining the book scouting mantra: 1. Scout daily. Drill those simple five little steps into your head and keep them there. They can mean the difference between success and failure. Whatever your scouting schedule -- stick to it. Even if you're just a weekend scouter. Then scout EVERY weekend! If you scout just two hours each evening, then scout those two hours no matter what. The economy is still as sluggish as ever and if you want to make ends meet you have to remain disciplined. Good hunting. *************** Oct 06, 2012 You want to start a business but don’t have a business plan? Shame on you!
